Le Pont de l'Europe

[edit]

>>Three individuals are seen:<<

I would suggest modifying this to, 'Three individuals are featured,' as even in the relatively low resolution Wiki picture there are at least nine individuals depicted. 99.179.45.241 (talk) 11:46, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good suggestion, but we're not sure the artist intended to feature these three individuals. The text has been changed to "Three individuals are seen in the foreground", which adds clarity. Truthanado (talk) 21:34, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't appear that all of the images in the gallery are relevant to this article:

  • The two sketches are relevant, since they show the development of the painting.
  • The work by Hiroshige is relevant, since Caillebotte was influenced by his work.
  • The other three images are pictures of bridges and people walking.

I propose that we delete those images that are not relevant. What does the community say? Thanks. Truthanado (talk) 21:30, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please see the text for an explanation of the relevancy of these images. The only one I didn't directly reference in the text is Sur le Pont de l'Europe, an alternate view of this same scene by Caillebotte. It's so closely related to this work that it doesn't seem to make sense to write a separate article about it. There should probably be a paragraph describing it at some point, but I don't have enough material on hand to write it at this time. Cmprince (talk) 04:29, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation. It wasn't obvious when I read the article. Truthanado (talk) 16:28, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
