File:Letchworth State Park Lower Falls.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Letchworth State Park Lower Falls.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

The Portage Viaduct photo

[edit]

This photo was taken from an active railroad bridge -- the photographer was trespassing at serious possibility of harm to themselves and others looking to recreate the photo (the choice when a train comes is to be hit by a train or jump several hundred feet to one's almost-certain death -- there is no place to escape). I don't believe it should be in this article, let alone the "main art." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.74.59.36 (talk) 17:59, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A little late, but I agree. I've replaced the main photo, and moved the previous image to the article's gallery. Antepenultimate (talk) 17:35, 27 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Possible copyvio

[edit]

So, I think I'm using the copyvio tag wrong, because it blanked most of the page, rather than the section.

However, the section on the '72 flood seems to have been largely lifted from: http://www.letchworthparkhistory.com/flood3.html 38.97.88.240 (talk) 12:10, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
