[edit]The content of this topic is undoubtedly similar to the book Linguistics at School (http://www.cambridge.org/gb/knowledge/isbn/item2428174/?site_locale=en_GB), edited by Anne Lobeck and Kristin Denham, because in my time at Western Washington University I took several courses from both professors, and we used that book as our text in one of those courses. It was Anne and Kristin who first brought my attention to this field and so naturally any of my edits to this topic will have been colored by their instruction. In fact I have emailed them asking for any assistance in improving the article. At this point I have not copied any material directly from any of the essays found in their book but will be using it in the near future to expand and improve the article.
