Should we have 26 tables - one for each letter of the alphabet - or one long table? GiantSnowman 03:35, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think different letters might be an idea, but would then make sorting impossible between letters, e.g. if you wanted to find the top 50 appearances / goals for the club or players in an era. Peanut4 22:00, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should leave it as one long table. GiantSnowman 22:09, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. I never expected such a quick reply! Okay, I'll go with that for the time being and keep on adding more entries as I go on though I think I've now exhausted any players with Wikipedia entries. Peanut4 22:11, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, I try my best! I think if we can add players who don't have articles, then create the articles ourselves? GiantSnowman 22:44, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. I've been adding a few articles recently. I've also found a couple of players linked elsewhere - mainly our internationals though there haven't been many!! I certainly intend to use the Terry Frost book to add bios of all the players with bios and all the managers from there. It's a long and slow process. And I'm going to get my McCall autobiography to push that article on. Peanut4 22:47, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should also change the flags - they make the table too wide. I think we should have something like ENG {{flagicon|ENG}} or {{flagicon|ENG}} ENG - what do you think? GiantSnowman 23:52, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's okay as it is. I changed it to make in line with other club lists and just used the current wiki templates. I suppose certain individual cases could be changed. Like Ndumbu and Kelly Youga and leave the rest as is. Peanut4 23:57, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flags[edit]

I've started a new subject to discuss the flags / nationalities. I've changed Ndumbu's to simply Congo. It is still sortable under Congo, and the link still works. But it does look better. What do you think? Peanut4 23:59, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've altered Ces Podd's and Kelly Youga's too in the main table. It doesn't make much difference to me on my browser but guess it might to some. Peanut4 00:03, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It looks miles better, good work. Why not use the following template to give links to national sides rather than the country: {{fb|ENG}} GiantSnowman 00:14, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nice idea. Will do it pronto. Peanut4 00:23, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've done it and also altered flags in the top section. Peanut4 00:44, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ireland[edit]

I've come across the piece of information that  Northern Ireland and  Republic of Ireland were previously  Ireland until 1922. For players before then what would you suggest we do? I'd probably say  Ireland. Not that I know whether there are any player yet. Peanut4 23:30, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If there's a player who played for  Ireland before 1922 then use that flag. GiantSnowman 12:16, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Campbell[edit]

is there any way the stats for Robert Campbell you hav are wrong? and when did he play for rangers as i have created an article Robert Campbell (footballer born 1882) about a Rangers F.C. player between 1906-1914 y8c 19:05, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Size of article[edit]

Is anyone else having problems with the size of this article? Sometimes it takes ages to load up. And at the moment I can't compare differences between edits without getting the Wikimedia error. Peanut4 (talk) 22:14, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just found out, that I can no longer make edits to the former players section. I think we need a re-think on how to sort the page out. Perhaps remove the transcluded flags? Peanut4 (talk) 16:43, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say keep the flags, but maybe purge the players - only have notable ones i.e. over 50 apps, 10/20 goals, international players, 1911 FA winners, Premiership players etc. Thoughts? GiantSnowman 17:23, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My thoughts were to break the article similar to other featured lists, to those with more than 100 games. Perhaps add a second article with a list of all players, similar to Gillingham but the second with less detail, but allow the list to be sortable and complete. Peanut4 (talk) 20:45, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I've just stumbled across the two Gillingham pages, and was about to suggest knicking their idea - great minds think alike! Shall I leave it up to you to sort out...? GiantSnowman 17:16, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try get round to it in the next few weeks on my long haul towards getting the main City articles towards featured status. It's good to get an agreeing second opinion. Peanut4 (talk) 18:08, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

place as mapped[edit]

'Bradford City' where? beadtot66.217.68.88 (talk) 02:51, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I don't understand...GiantSnowman 11:59, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion[edit]

The lead says "The following is a list of Bradford City players who have made over 50 appearances in the Football League for Bradford City", yet it includes current players with as few as one appearance?!?!? -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 08:24, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed the wording, is it better now? GiantSnowman 08:46, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, makes sense now, although I'm not 100% convinced on including all current players but only former ones with 50+ apps...... -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 11:45, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
