[edit]Also did List of Native American peoples of the United States. Was surprised this hasn't been properly done beyond a general overview of all of North & South America. Plan to also do 'Native Peoples of Mexico & Mesoamerica' & 'Native Peoples of the Caribbean' pages afterward, unless someone else wants to beat me to it.
Please address any & all concerns below. Thank you. Bobbotronica (talk) 17:58, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
- I do have a few comments/questions:
- Can "American" be dispensed with in the title?
- Should the title use "indigenous" instead of "native", consistent with the first sentence?
- Why are you grouping Canada and Greenland? This seems like arbitrarily grouping the native peoples of Nicaragua and Honduras. Besides, Greenlandic Inuit already covers the three groups in Greenland.
- Preferred style is to spell out "and".

1) I can change the title, but I'm actually unsure of how to do that as of right now. I only used indigenous because, I believe, Indigenous is the more common term used in Canada, but I was trying to keep things more uniform with the first list I did. 2) I was grouping Canada & Greenland because Greenland is a smaller place & I was under the impression that a lot of the people belong to the same culture group(s). I figured it'd be simpler doing some things in groups rather than doing it all country-by country when we were getting into smaller countries, or dealing with territorial regions that belonged to non-American nations. But, if Greenland has already been covered elsewhere, I can remove that part. Besides, I haven't gotten around to that area as of yet & I can just as easily put that as a referred page at the bottom.
Anyway, I will go ahead & figure this out. Thanks. Bobbotronica (talk) 14:15, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
Delete Page
[edit]On request, I've moved the contents of this page, which will be improved upon as I go, to List of Indigenous Peoples of Canada . This page may be deleted. Please do not remove the other one. Bobbotronica (talk) 14:26, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello. The right way to do this is to move the page, not copy and paste it. Two of the words also need to be lowercase per WP:NCCAPS, so I will move this article to the correctly spelled title, and redirect the second article there. This subject seems to be largely covered by Indigenous peoples in Canada, however. Mr. MacTidy (talk) 14:31, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
- Done. Mr. MacTidy (talk) 14:36, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
Thank you. And, it's not really covered in that page-- that's more of a cultural overview that doesn't include names of tribes/ first nations. I plan this to just be a general list that help forward people to different specific tribes. Bobbotronica (talk) 15:29, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
However, apparently someone did find List of First Nations peoples, which is more-so along the lines of what I was doing. Damn. Sorry.
