Rating as an ARTICLE, not as a wiki-List

[edit]

Although "list" is in the title, this is an ARticle to be rated on scale Stub/Start/B then to go for FL status. See ongoing discussion in Talk page at WP:NRHP as to what ratings criteria should be. I self-rate it "Start" for now as there is a stub article for every entry and otherwise consistent with proposed criteria for Start rating of list-tables like this. doncram 01:04, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Layout

[edit]

I just want to comment that the begining of this page makes you want to go to another article entirely. I don't think this will pass for a Feature List when it is submitted for this. I changed it before, but I see it was changed back. I think that it should be removed from the top and just kept in the "See also" towards the bottom. There should be a link to the "Main article" in the article itself, and the second bolded title should also be removed. I would like to see if there is an argument as to why it is being kept at the top like that? Maybe it is acceptible, but I don't think it is.--Kranar drogin 21:29, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. I see merit in what you say. The current format is consistent with the emerging "standard" format for all the state NHL lists, which is not set in stone and needs improvement. Your critique would apply to many other articles. I just posted your comment over in Talk:List of National Historic Landmarks by state. Could we please discuss it further over there? And thanks for suggesting this is nearing Feature status, if you meant that. :) I know little about getting Feature status, would be happy if you could advance that or comment further. doncram 21:35, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Kranar, thanks for contributing to the discussion over in Talk:List of National Historic Landmarks by state. I'd be very glad if you could go ahead and edit this Illinois list article as discussed there, including how you mention you can work into the text a link to the "by state" list. doncram 07:52, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Date of NHL designation

[edit]

Help needed comleting out NHL designation date column. I just relabelled the column, it was formerly the year of NRHP listing. Entries need to be replaced by date (day-month-year) of NHL designation, which can be taken for each NHL from its article's NRHP infobox. If the date is not included in the article's NRHP infobox, it should be added there, along with a source (should be the NHL summary page). doncram 20:56, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Map of NHLs Added

[edit]

I added a map of the Illinois NHLs. As you can see with Illinois (and especially the Chicago area) things got a bit cluttered. I moved the Chicago area proper NHLs to the left side. This map design was taken from the design from List of NHLs in Indiana page, and if we anyone knows of a better map, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it/seeing it implemented here.

Also, there is some formatting issues. One person that has seen the page said that the formatting on their machine was messed up, so as to render the map a complete mess. If anyone knows how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. ---codyh1, 9:30, July 23, 2009
