Number of verified people

[edit]

930310, I notice that you reverted this change, which modified this statement As of 25 November 2024, there are 11 verified living supercentenarians, the oldest of whom is American woman Susannah Mushatt Jones. to read As of 25 November 2024, the oldest living supercentenarian is American woman Susannah Mushatt Jones. The reason I made the change is that the original sentence is GRG-specific: it refers only to the number of supercentenarians that have been validated by the GRG. In fact, there are likely other people whose ages have been validated, such as those people participating in the New England Supercentenarian Study and people listed at the International Database on Longevity. Therefore, to say that there's an exact number of verified supercentenarians without specifying that only one agency has validated these claims is WP:OR and WP:UNDUE. I'm going to rework the sentence again. Thank you. Ca2james (talk) 16:51, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
