Talk:List of SSSIs in Radnor
This page was proposed for deletion by Sionk (talk · contribs) on 1 September 2017 with the comment: Firstly this article hasn't got a list of anything and isn't a list of SSSIs in Radnorshire, but a general description of SSSIs. Secondly, there isn't a place called Radnor, while Radnorshire merged with two other counties to form Powys. We already have an actual list article of actual SSSI's called List of SSSIs in Powys. Rationale against proposed deletion
[edit]In Wales, Sites of Special Scientific Interest are not listed by county (which vary greatly in size), but by Area of Search (which are more consistent in size). See List of Sites of Special Scientific Interest by Area of Search. This page is part of Template:SSSI AOS lists and Category:Lists of Sites of Special Scientific Interest by Area of Search.
Rather than deleting one of the Wales AOS pages, IMHO the county lists should be aggregated and redirected (in the cases like List of SSSIs in West Glamorgan, where the AOS covers multiple counties), or split to Radnor etc in the cases like Powys.
Alternatively, we could leave the county lists, and leave the pages like List of SSSIs in West Glamorgan, but arrange the Powys list into separate AOSs, and redirect the Radnor page (etc) to it. – Fayenatic London 20:24, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
- You haven't addressed the rationale for deletion, namely this isn't a list of SSSI's in Radnorshire. I don't see the purpose, to be honest, of these identikit general descriptions fo the SSSI organisation method. If this is a holding page for a list article yet to be written, it should be in draft space until someone has the time or inclination to write it. Sionk (talk) 22:03, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
- Rather than remove the page from article space, we could temporarily redirect it to Powys, preferably at least annotating the Powys list with the names of the AOSs that it covers. – Fayenatic London 16:48, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
