Something[edit]

Does anyone have a copy of the final WCW magazine. I believe that the information about WCW Big Bang Theory belongs in this topic, however, I have no access to this proof. I am, however, aware that poster advertising this event was featured in the final issue of WCW Magazine. So, if anyone has this, and a scanner, you know what to do.

Until then, the best I can offer is testimony from other fellow wrestling fans who can confirm the existence of this planned event.

Here it is.

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --70.55.8.98 (talk) 06:03, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

it is a great resource for past wcw ppv's. I look at it and obviously so does the person who wants it deleted or they wouldnt know it existed. I say keep it.

The deletion is for the template in use in the article, not the article.--WillC 06:15, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Who screwed it up?[edit]

This was a great page until someone removed all the information because they decided it was of no use to people without the WWE Network.

I don't have it and it was great page. I can understand if they had just removed all the links to the WWE Network but they didn't they deleted the info of all the PPV's.

If you look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_WCW_pay-per-view_events&diff=600699015&oldid=600505970 the info is still all there but whatever deletion was done can't be undone despite the info being there.

If anyone can help return it to its previous state please do. I know I can't do it and I know someone else tried to fix it. DrWho001 (talk) 15:50, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why Does The List Begin In 1991?[edit]

The very first WCW PPV was Starrcade from November 1987. Every Starrcade prior to that(1983-1986) was shown on closed-circuit TV, which is different than PPV. Turner Broadcasting purchased Jim Crockett Promotions a year later in November 1988 and immediately changed the name of the company to World Championship Wrestling. The first PPV under the WCW name was Starrcade from December 1988. I understand the idea that people consider it a "brand new company" after the Turner purchase, even though in reality all they did was change the name of the company. With all that said, I still don't understand why the PPV list begins in 1991. Even if you want to go by WCW being created in November 1988 then the list, at the earliest, should start with Starrcade 1988. Please help me understand why 1991 is the starting point. I think they were considered NWA PPV's before 1991.50.136.139.204 (talk) 07:33, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

But they weren't. If you read what I wrote above, the WCW name was in effect as of November 1988. So Starrcade 1988, if you want to go strictly by the WCW letters, should be the first WCW ppv. OldSkool01 (talk) 05:14, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The WCW name existed, but they were considered to be NWA events. If you take a look at Starrcade 88, there were NWA symbols on the ring.50.136.139.204 (talk) 13:29, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why the omission of the New Japan Pro Wrestling and AAA crossovers?[edit]

When it was still under the auspices of the NWA, WCW had three crossover pay per views with New Japan Pro Wrestling: The three Supershows. Then, after WCW went independent in 1993, it produced the English-language version of the AAA pay per view When Worlds Collide, and well as teaming up with NJPW yet again for Collision in Korea (although the latter went unaired in the States for nearly a year and a half). I would "be bold" and add these, but their omission is so obvious to anyone knowledgeable about the subject (especially CiK, what with it being the largest professional wrestling event of all time) that I figure there's a legitimate reason for it. What, then, is the justification for their exclusion? 76.97.82.9 (talk) 01:23, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You Forgot Battlebowl 1993[edit]

There was a Battlebowl PPV on Nov. 20, 1993, which featured only the tournament and battle royal.50.136.139.204 (talk) 05:21, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merger[edit]

Added this to Talk:List of NWA pay-per-view events:

These listed events were produced and held by the promotions JCP (1983-88) and WCW (88-90), and not by the NWA (the governing body) itself. The confusion always arises because Crockett preferred to market his wrestling as "NWA", even though JCP (and later WCW) was only one of the members (albeit the dominant member, especially after World Class withdrew in 1986) and did not represent the entire NWA. This caused much confusion among the fans which continues to this day.

The larger point here is, these are JCP and WCW events, and I propose they be merged with List of WCW pay-per-view events, as the NWA didn't produce or hold any PPVs. As a side note, anything prior to Starrcade 1987 wasn't on PPV. NWAjr. (talk) 23:35, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
