Difference between Waffen Division and SS Division

[edit]

Does anyone know? For instance most mountain or grenadier units are listed as "Waffen Divisions of the SS" whilst others are simple the "xth SS Division 'Name'". -PatPeter 08:22, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As a rule of thumb the Germanic Divisions were Waffen SS, the non Germanic were Waffen Division der SS. Germanic = German, Volksdeutsche (Ethnic German), Nordic, Scandinavian and the non Germanic = Latin, Slavic, Baltic, Muslim etc --Jim Sweeney (talk) 19:09, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greek division?

[edit]

I have never before heard of a 23rd Griechenland division - can we get a source on this? Xt828 (talk) 07:21, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

VIII SS Cavalry Corps

[edit]

Wait, there's a site where they did talk about this unit. And the Netherlands Wikipedia also talk about this unit too: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/VIII_SS_Cavaleriekorps From here, it was know that this unit was intended to create from 8th & 22th SS Divisions, but after both were destroyed at the Siege of Budapest, it was canceled. Could someone create the page about it please? From the link i had sent here, you can create it. Minhdead2205 (talk) 09:12, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
