Keep: The reason for this article to be created was due to the removal of several attempted assassinations from the List of assassinations of the Sri Lankan Civil War, such as this [1] which seems to be fair since you cann't list attempted assassinations in an assassinations list. However as notable are the assassinations, the attempted assassinations in the Sri Lankan Civil War are equally notable since they gained much media head lines as the successful ones. The article List of United States presidential assassination attempts and plots lists 12 attempted, this article is still in progress of listing and has the potentional to grow as are with the case of

As for the PoV claims, what is the basis of that claim. Please let me know so that I could respond. Cossde (talk) 10:29, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Keep or merge: There are a few assassination attempts that should definitely be listed somewhere. In my opinion, the best option is to create a section named "Notable assassination attempts" in the List of assassinations of the Sri Lankan Civil War article and include them there. Since no concern has been raised moved contents to List of assassinations of the Sri Lankan Civil War. Cossde (talk) 17:43, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
WP:OTHERTHINGSEXIST certainly isn't the way to look at it, but you can personally look at the value and quality of the U.S. article you presented. This article is simple not a notable topic, and I agree with you that the notable incidents should belong somewhere (but not here). Most of them clearly belong to the List of attacks attributed to the LTTE, and the rest belong to List of attacks attributed to the Sri Lankan military. That's enough, which is where they belong. I'm just giving my suggestion, but I won't oppose the current merge (even tho I don't think it will stay, policy-wise). Consider my suggestion plan B :).
