Cleanup[edit]

This page and the main article need some serious work...I've made a start but in general, there should be less unsourced chat about the characters 'stories' (Since I've got all three games and there are almost no story details, and no real character endings), and more about the actual design and fighting styles of the characters. Stuff[edit]

I added an important bit of triva for Darun. He's based on an actual wrestler named Great Gama. Capcom has a reputation for basing characters off of famous fighters. For example, Ryu is based off of Yoshiji Soeno, a real life Kyokushin Karateka. Another well known example is Balrog, who is based off of the pro boxer Mike Tyson. I've also heard that Akuma was based off of Mas Oyama (however, I am doubtful of this because Akuma doesn't bear that much of a resemblance). The rest of the characters I mentioned however, are clearly based off of thier real life counterparts. It's really interesting to find where they get thier ideas from in my opinion.

edit: Capcom also bases characters off of non-fighters as well. Eagle's character design in Capcom Vs. SNK 2 was based off of Freddie Mercury.

Also this is one of my first edits on Wikipedia, for the record. The other ones were by my brother and other people using this IP. Not that it matters or anything, I'm just a bit paranoid that people will delete my stuff because of how my brother has been pissing people off. I used to have the character designs and other design info from various Capcom games but I can't find it at the moment. Either way, I'm pretty sure you can trust me that Duran is based off of Gama. Capcom does this a lot and this character is no exception. Besides, they look almost exactly alike.

I just noticed that I forgot to register a seperate account. Whoops.. :\ --67.163.49.242 03:09, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Canon[edit]

I am curious about the following quote from Allen's section: "Allen is one of only two (possibly three) characters who have the unique status of being canon Street Fighter characters who are not owned by Capcom". To the person who edited this, where did you acquire this information? It sounds highly unlikely that Allen as opposed to the rest of the cast (as it seems) would be canon for no reason whatsoever, assuming that you are talking about the Street Fighter main canon and not the EX one. What makes him canon, and why? I won't edit anything until I have confirmation though, and I am not denying the possibility to make that clear. Thanks. --Drule 15:41, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I think it may be just someone's wishful thinking. For now, I'll add fact-needed tags. ---SilentRAGE! 07:55, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Garuda[edit]

Um... who came up with that stuff about Garuda? It sounds like some kind of fanfiction.ShinGaruda 22:44, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pullum purna is claimed to be Indian, but she talks hebrew, i think blair, sharon and pullum actually are meant to be an european jewish girl, an israeli jewish girl and an israeli muslim girl.

The section about Garuda is 100% wrong, not only about him ( he actually has no personal history with any character who has ever appeared in any Streetfighter game), but also about several other characters in Street Fighter history. The whole thing reads like a crappy fanfiction. I didn't even bother looking at the other people but I suspect they are wrong too.

Further, there is no such thing in the entire history of Street Fighter as "Dark Hadou", which was used by whoever (poorly) translated the Street Fighter Zero animated movie into English. Even if it did exist, it would be in the Zero series, which has absolutely nothing to do with Street Fighter EX.

If no one cares enough to deal with this in 24 hours, I suppose I can do it.

"Dark Hadou" no, but there is the "Satsui no hadou"... I'm just going to pretend it was one helluvva bad translation.

Fixed the Garuda section by removing the crap and adding what's known about him from the games.

  • UGH! Finally! I was gonna do it myself, but I was worried that I didn't know enough about him... man, how stupid can I be? I just wish this was taken care of before. Oh, and can you please sign your name? ShinGaruda 00:38, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I can. There's a bit more about the guy, but since I can't prove it comes from the games, I'm not going to list it. -Junior November 22 2006

The information about Garuda arising due to Akuma's death IS TRUE. Whoever is removing that info needs to stop that.--Neofcon 17:06, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

???[edit]

May I ask, what's correct information on this page and what's NOT!? I'm getting seriously confused by all "facts" here. I mean, the trivia sections of the characters are more resourceful than their actual biography. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.228.148.172 (talk) 18:23, 8 December 2006 (UTC). The section on Garuda is correct. I haven't read the others and I don't have time to fix them if they are wrong. -Junior[reply]

This isn't a problem with just this article, but all of the Street Fighter character articles as well. They're just basically in-universe descriptions of the characters, leaving out important facts like the character development and creation in an unneeded Trivia section. Are there any Street Fighter characters in these games?[edit]

This is a list of characters from Street Fighter EX games. Are there no Capcom owned characters? Even the main article doesn't reference them. I see Ryu in the screenshot but according to this page he's not there. JohnnyMrNinja 09:05, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are older characters from the other games, but this page is for characters who only appear in the EX games, rather than the complete cast I would guess. Could add links to the main articles for the 'classic' Streetfigher characters though. Daigo 15:37, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
