I added Auto city to Flint entry and wanted to just say that I believe it was in contrast to Detroits "Motor City" moniker since motores were made in detroit and put in cars on assembly lines in flint you can refer to Michael Moore's movie to see the link though I'm not sure, I believe he did refer to Flint as the Auto City

I will be adding a City that I grew up in also (Davison) and every holiday the main street downtown had flags hanging every where to support it's adopted name

I cannot find a reference on any website that recognizes Flint, MI as "Auto City." I don't disagree that it's been called that at some point in its history, given the history of Flint in its role in the auto industry, along with Michael Moore's documentary, "Roger and Me."
