Scope[edit]

The List of defenses to 1NT is pretty fat now, however all the articles are stubs, with little potential for expansion. It might be a good idea to merge them together into Conventional defenses to 1NT. I know I sound contradicting to my previous "anti-merge" stance, but those articles really have a common feature: they are and will be short, with the same structure, at most 4-5 paragraphs with overcalls and responses. Maybe a few would deserve a separate article, but that could easily be solved. What do you think? Duja 10:41, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose I am an anti-mergist in general. Here I can think of various things which can be added: sample auctions; advice on when to use/not use; theory, history, and variations; legality per various NCBOs; statistical information (NOR of course); and external references (books and web pages). What is wrong with small articles that can grow with time? I very much like the List of defenses to 1NT that is (even at this early stage) more complete than what you find covered in The Official Encyclopedia of Bridge. I don't understand why you feel these articles necesarily would stay short. Obviously these articles can all expand with example hands etc. Merging all these articles on defenses to 1NT into one article would create a beast that would be boring and pretty unreadible.
