The Rebel/Hancock's Half Hour

I can find no evidence to support the claim that this film is based on a particular episode. It has a passing reseblance to "The Poetry Society". Here's the Wiki page for the film:The Rebel (1961 film)

The film's plot bears some similarities to the Hancock's Half Hour radio episode "The Poetry Society" (also written by Galton and Simpson), in which Hancock's character attempts to ingratiate himself with a group of snobbish pseudo-intellectuals but is rejected because he is unable to imitate their pretentious poetic style.

However "some similarities" is hardly enough to justify the claim - it is equally possible that Galton, Simpson and Hancock recycled the basic idea unconciously - ity does after all appear to arise naturally from the character.

Also - the similarities end when it comes to the Rebel being about Hancock's art - not poetry - being set in Paris - not East Cheam.

I think the claim as it stand constitutes original research.

Shadow

While the Shadow may have existed as a lterary character, it began as the Narrator on an earlier radio program. The stories and the radio show often had divergent universes, but there should be no doubt the 1994 film was based on the radio show. --K3vin (talk) 21:39, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I seem to recall seeing some Boston Blackie movies being aired on TCM
