The techniques here are all techniques I've found in the online terminology at http://www.nkko.no/syllabus_kyokushinkai.asp. I believe there may be some others as well, but here I'm totally clueless. If you know any more techniques, please add them to the list.

Actually, I think there is. There are already lists for other martial arts, as shotokan and judo, so why not kyokushin karate as well? I was also hoping that someone would create articles for each of the techniques some time, and then we could link to them from here. Baardie 22:46, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question. Should we start to include more competition specific techniques (like tate kubi geri, Mae Domawashi kaiten geri and so on), or should we keep it to formal kihon techniques? How about technique variations like Momo geri for gedan mawashi geri to the inside of the leg? How about the more obscure kihon techniques not part of formal gradings, like oroshi koken uke? 8 march 2009

Merge what?[edit]

There is a lot of confusion created by this article. The main Kyokushin kaikan article states that there are three technicques, kihon (basics), kata (forms4and kumite (sparring), while this article gives a totally new list of 1 Tachi (stances), 2 Tsuki (strikes), 3 Keri (kicks), 4 uke (blocks) and 5 Ashi Uke (leg blocks). Without propper reference I don't know where this list is coming from? How do I Merge both articles and finally what is the notability of this list? Can an expert please shed more light on the list and the discrepancy?Wikishagnik (talk) 20:53, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I could help. All of this...tachi, tsuki etc. is KIHON. This is the way Kihon is divided. There could also be a 6th with leg sweeps. Kumite or fighting can bo divided to Yakusoku kumite: prearrenged fighting, Jissen kumite: full contact f., Jiyu kumite: free sparring etc. And yes, to have the full list of all the techniques that were ever thought in Kyokushin, should be named and somehow classified.
