Issues with naming[edit]

Since there is a problem with name versions, they should be discussed. I think it is probably best, as Wikipedia policy recommends as well, for the most common name of the person to be used. Can we all at lease agree on that? Second, we can figure out which version is actually the most common used. Discuss. --Jesuislafete (talk) 08:35, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:COMMONNAME article titles are already most commonly used forms in English-language sources so if one wants to challenge specific names one should turn to raising this in each article's talk page. As for the list, it should have blue links pointing to articles whatever they are called on Wikipedia and alternative names could be mentioned in brackets. Putting aside the naming issue, is there a point in having this list? I mean, all the list items are blue-linked, and a category would do just fine, requiring no maintenance on its own, such as referencing the list items. If none, there is List of people from Osijek too.--Tomobe03 (talk) 11:09, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well there are hundreds of such lists in Category:Lists of people by city. I suppose lists are popular because they can say why some natives are notable other than simply stating the fact that he/she was born there, like categories do. List of people from London even has sub-lists by borough. Timbouctou (talk) 12:15, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps in that case all such lists found in articles on croatian cities such as Sisak, Velika Gorica, Slavonski Brod, Pula, Karlovac, Varaždin etc. should be turned in this type of lists then, maybe even leading to a List of people from Croatia modeled on the List of people from London and its relationship to London borough lists.--Tomobe03 (talk) 10:23, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's a good idea. I went through a number of city articles recently and most of them feature such lists but they are for the most part rather short, with maybe 10-15 entries each. How about creating a single list of people from Croatia ordered by city, titled something like List of people by city in Croatia? It could have a map like in the List of people from London on top, with city-specific links pointing to individual subsections? It would save us the trouble of maintaining about a dozen separate small lists and city articles could still have links to their notable citizens via a piped link in the "See also" section. Sounds good. If and when small lists grow sufficiently, the scheme can be developed further then.--Tomobe03 (talk) 18:02, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Victork Đerek should be removed[edit]

He is born in Split and based out of Makarska.

Makarska is not even in the same County as Dubrovnik.

Both Split and Makarska are in Split-Dalmatia county. Not Dubrovnik-Neretva.

I am removing that section. Put him up in List of people from Split. Not Dubrovnik. MiroslavGlavic (talk) 21:18, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Viktor Đerek Removed[edit]

He isn't from or lives in Dubrovnik. See previous section. I removed his section of the article. MiroslavGlavic (talk) 21:22, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
