[edit]Before adding someone to this page, please verify that the person in question is known, if not outside Indianapolis, at least throughout the city as a whole. At the very least, passing Wikipedia's Google test would suffice. But even this might not be sufficient. A search for ("Firstname Lastname" Indianapolis) on Google or Google News should bring up something other than mention on Wikipedia pages or on pages derived from Wikipedia text. I see Reggie Miller on the list. It is true he remains a resident of Indianapolis and considers himself a Hoosier, but he grew up in California and only came to Indiana when drafted by the Pacers. Is that being "from Indianapolis"? Jjb 2006/02/05
Actor Steve Burton is on this list and I wanted to learn more about him so I went to his page, via the link provided, and no where on that page did it say he was born/lived/or lives in Indianapolis. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and lives in Beverly Hills, CA. Should he be removed? I didn't want to remove him automatically in case there is a reason for him being on the list. There is a difference between Indianapolis and Indiana. There are several people on the list (Ted Leo, Larry Bird, John Wooden to name a few) who were born in Indiana, but have either no connection or only a tenuous connection to Indianapolis itself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.230.251.197 (talk) 15:54, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

[edit]A page similar to this one. List of people from San Francisco, is currently under review as an article for deletion, for reasons which would apply to this article as well. I am conducting an RfC on the talk page of the above-mentioned list to determine whether the concensus agrees on keeping such lists or not. Any and all comments are more than welcome.
