linking of describers

describer links are totally ambiguous the way they are given here. they should be removed, and every distinct describer be linked once and only once. --Sarefo 03:49, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ok, i changed that, but i think the list still needs work. maybe the species should be grouped according to family? Also, I'm not sure that the describer should be in the list. And i think maybe this list should not be in the main wikipedia at all, but maybe as a work list in the WP:SPI internal pages? --Sarefo 04:17, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

@Sarefo: I don't think we need the authorities at all here, so I've removed them. I've also updated the scientific names, as quite a few have changed since 2006. There's an issue with sourcing, though: any names not from the general source given should really be separately referenced. Peter coxhead (talk) 09:28, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
