OTRS edit request

For reference: VRTS ticket # 2019050210008266, The subject of the article is asking for a neutral coverage of the information under the "Lawsuit" section covered in the Winnipeg Free Press. As it appears now, the editor in question added the statement does have a non-NPOV. Please note this is not a legal compliance request and thus, meets our guidelines per WP:NLT. --qedk (t c) 11:05, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

@QEDK: I agree that the editor in question may not have been editing from a neutral point of view. That same editor has removed controversial claims from the Peter Nygård article, so it's no coincidence that this claim was placed here against Mr. Bacon. The property war between Mr. Bacon and Mr. Nygard seems to have spilled over into Wikipedia,[a] and I think others should be made aware of it (though they may be aware already). I'd like to ping @BD2412, Oshwah, and Edwardx: for their input on this. Regards,  Spintendo  12:10, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

Spintendo - If the parts of the content that aren't in compliance with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy can easily be fixed or removed, I'd just resolve the matter this way. What user are we talking about exactly? The one whose adding the non-neural content? I don't have OTRS access. I don't have this page on my watchlist, so you'll need to make sure to ping me in your responses so that I'm notified. ;-) Thanks - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:31, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
@Oshwah: Thank you for your quick reply. The editor is Candor777. As content, the claim is valid, in that a lawsuit was filed by Nygard against Bacon. But the OTRS ticket is requesting "neutral coverage", i.e., mentioning one aspect requires that the rest of the mitigating circumstances-baggage be brought in — namely all of the other elements regarding this 8 year long property war, which could almost merit its own article. So the dilemma is thus: spend the next hour crafting enough material to write a NPOV couple of paragraphs discussing all of the lawsuits, or just delete the claim and wait for the next one (inevitably) to be added. Fighting Mr. Bacon's property war-by-proxy here on Wikipedia is not what I signed up for. What to do?  Spintendo  13:18, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Spintendo - I'd just quickly trim the section to keep only the facts stated and nothing else (if that can be done), or sure - delete the entire thing due to concerns with NPOV. Another editor who wants to spend the time to add the content and all of the details about this lawsuit between the two individuals is welcome (and encouraged) to do so; it doesn't have to be you. ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 13:38, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Done Thank you for your help, it's much appreciated.  Spintendo  13:57, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Spintendo - No problem; always happy to lend a hand ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:05, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Thanks everyone for the quick resolution, @Spintendo and Oshwah:. --qedk (t c) 14:15, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
QEDK - You bet :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:21, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

Notes

  1. ^ Perhaps a NPOV-based Bacon–Nygård Bahamian property dispute article could be submitted through WP:AFC, as there seems to be plenty of sources on this 8 year long battle.
