Is the proper term for the role accusator or delator? I've only seen the last used. Or do these two words denote different roles in Roman Law? -- llywrch (talk) 17:35, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
4 years late but I think the two are interchangable with delator being the formal term. In this case they're called accusators by Tacitus and modern sources because these senators are predominantly making accusations rather than legal arguments. I am completely uncertain if it's an actual role in Roman law or a descriptive term. SpartaN (talk) 06:38, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
ah, I found it. "Trio had a reputation for being an accusator,that is, a person famous for sniding other senators in exchange for some advantage." So I should use delator when referring to him in his actual capacity. SpartaN (talk) 06:42, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
