If Win For Life (which began with THREE lotteries) is down to just Virginia now, then perhaps the WFL page should be combined with the LFL page, with perhaps fewer details of each game listed, and maybe other such games added. WFL probably no longer merits its own article. 24.218.84.155 (talk) 21:57, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Do Not Merge. Lucky For Life is the fourth-largest draw game (by number of states participating) behind Mega Millions, Powerball, and Hot Lotto. It deserves its own page without sacrificing detail to include a lottery game in Virginia that is related by style only (in much the same way that Mega Millions and Powerball and Hot Lotto are related, yet they have their own articles too). • Possible merge. Maybe the person who requested the merge believes the two pages should be combined on the WFL page (since that is the most common name for "lifetime" lottery games; AFAIK that is a "brand" name, somewhat like with Mega Millions or Hot Lotto) but that LFL be detailed since it's now the primary "lifetime" game. Merge undone. A poor idea at best, as outside of format the two games have nothing in common. There is not even a single state overlapping between them, and the South and New England couldn't be any further apart and be in the same country. Plus it was executed utterly incorrectly as there was NO information on Lucky for Life added to the Win for Life article, making the redirect pointless. oknazevad (talk) 22:27, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While the merge discussion took place several years ago, and appears dead (as it probably should remain) a couple of facts need to be corrected, lest someone assume they are still accurate: Win For Life is completely dead now; the last drawing was 13 Sep 2014. As of right now, Lucky for Life has one more participating lottery than Hot Lotto, with two more participants expected to join early in 2016. I don't have similar info for Hot Lotto, and it is certainly possible that these two lotteries will continue to grow and leapfrog each other until both have joined Powerball and Mega Millions in size. List of States

[edit]

I've been unable to verify two of the states in the list of 18 that currently appear in the article. Iowa is listed as a future state, and Texas is listed as having joined in January of 2015. The Lucky For Life website does not list either state, and does not indicate that either is a pending or future participant. Neither state's lottery websites list Lucky For Life as being currently available, nor does it appear in any press releases from either lottery during 2015 or 2014. Accordingly, unless someone is able to demonstrate that these states belong in the list, I propose removing them. Etamni (talk) 01:17, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I contacted the offices of the Texas and Iowa lotteries. The person I spoke to in Texas was unaware of any plans to add Lucky For Life to that state's lineup. I do realize that this doesn't mean there aren't high-level discussions or negotiations going on to do this, but for now Texas should not be listed as a current or future state for this lottery, unless a credible source can be found that confirms it. The person I spoke to in Iowa was unable to confirm a start date for Iowa to join Lucky For Life, but indicated that this was in the works. She was unable to direct me to any published source or news release, so Iowa should also remain out of the article until a credible source can be found, since my phone call would be WP:OR. Interesting coincidence

[edit]

Probably doesn't really belong in the article itself, but the drawings on January 7, 2016 and January 11, 2016 matched four of the five white balls (21, 28, 35, 47). Etamni | ✉   01:56, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
