[edit]It is well documented that Seery is one of the pioneers of Lyrical Abstraction. There have been two museum expositions solely about Lyrical Abstractionism. The 1971 Lyrical Abstraction Show at the Whitney and Expanding Boundaries: Lyrical Abstraction at the Boca Raton Museum of Art in 2009. Seery was in both of these exposition. In fact, it was a Seery that was the highlighted for the Boca Raton exposition.
Peter Schjeldahl, considered one of the most influential art critics today, called Seery “the most exciting abstract painter of the 70s” Schjeldahl, along with others, are quoted naming Seery as one of the pioneers of Lyrical Abstractionism.
While Hoyland is a well know abstract artist, he has not nearly received this level of acknowledgment as being a pioneer of Lyrical Abstractionism.
Given these facts, I think it justified to move Seery, a well documented pioneer of Lyrical Abstraction to a spot at the top article and replace an artist that does not have the same recognition as a part of this art movement.
It should be noted that this is not a major edit in that no images are being removed or added, only repositioning images that already exist on the page. AppassionatoDiSport (talk) 16:17, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for your suggestion, the imagery is fine as is, The Seery is well placed, as is the Landfield, Willis, Lipsky, and Hoyland (who all had important exhibitions in NYC at the Emmerich Gallery and other important galleries and museums during the late sixties, early seventies). In fact Landfield, Willis, Lipsky, and Hoyland have all had many dozens of solo exhibitions in museums and important galleries over the last 50 years...Modernist (talk) 23:11, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you Modernist for your consideration and answer. Much appreciated and I respect your decision. AppassionatoDiSport (talk) 15:59, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
