2020 disposal year not closure year
[edit]I have consulted the pdf to which the statement that Venning and Parsons Barracks sites close in 2020, and rephrased it in line with the source, which merely speaks of 2020 as the "Estimated Date of Disposal" (ie when the site HAS closed). Another site in Shropshire was given an EDD of 2016 (last year) but it was still unsold come 1 January 2017.Cloptonson (talk) 09:00, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
Proposed move
[edit]I note that the UK Ministry of Defence styles itself MOD not MoD (see Working for MOD). We already have MOD Chicksands and MOD St Athan. There may be merit in moving MoD Abbey Wood, MoD Bicester, MoD Boscombe Down, MoD Corsham, MoD Donnington, MoD Feltham, MoD Kineton, MoD Lyneham, MoD Sealand and MoD Shoeburyness for consistency. Or we could just go with the majority position i.e. MoD. Views welcome at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Military history#MOD or MoD. Dormskirk (talk) 21:41, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- If that is how the Ministry officially styles itself when abbreviated, I say go with them. It would differentiate them from any other users of these letters as an abbreviation.Cloptonson (talk) 06:52, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
