http://navysite.de/akr/akr9679.htm has some images of the MV Cape Ray. Couldn't verify whether they are free-use. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rjfeltus (talkcontribs) 14:57, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

photo of 26 Aug 1994 - history of names

[edit]

on that picture, taken befor aquisition (by the US Navy) on the ship is written "Cape Ray / Norfolk, Va." therefore at this moment it has not yet been a military vessel "MV". Today her name is MV Cape Ray. Is it really true that in the meantime it carried one ore more different names as a MV? --Helium4 (talk) 09:19, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That's an interesting observation and I believe you are correct. However, [1] is where the photo information was taken. The US Navy says it's "a file photo taken Aug. 26, 1994." Perhaps someone can come up with a better photo. Toddst1 (talk) 14:13, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

MV means Motor Vessel not military vessel.[1]74.81.236.46 (talk) 20:51, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Another ship named "Cape Ray"

[edit]

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heiner_Braasch lists another ship, built (delivered) in 16 July 1971 as Hamburger Dom, later, 1972-1978 named Cape Ray. --Helium4 (talk) 10:05, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
