[edit]The picture of adobe walls is quite anomalous, and the tag line (on the full image page) "Old adobe walls stand as a reminder of the past in w:Madrid, New Mexico" is thoroughly absurd. This is a very recently built wall, and the "reminders" of Madrid's past are the flimsy frame miners' shacks. There are plenty of pictures of them available. I am inclined to take the picture in question off the page, though there's no big rush, plenty of time to discuss it. ;Bear 04:19, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Income
[edit]The numbers do not look right. How can the household income be $21k, family income $7k, male income $50k, female income $28k. Can someone with access to the figures review this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.62.234.13 (talk) 02:56, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was just wondering the same thing, it makes absolutely zero sense to me. AnotherSchmoe (talk) 06:49, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Pronunciation
[edit]Isn't it pronounced MAD-rid? AmericanLeMans (talk) 20:33, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, that's how it is pronounced. Wschart (talk) 19:36, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- No, it's not. Locals from Madrid don't even call it that. The white people who watched Wild Hogs might, but not locals. (talk) 09:26, 15 June 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.197.198.4 (talk)
- Having grown up in the area from the early 1950's, I can assure you that "MAD-rid" was the preferred pronunciation, and that had not changed by the the time I left in the 80's. Kokopelli-UK (talk) 20:26, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
