quote[edit]

I wonder, isn't this more appropriate for Wikiquote than for Wkipedia? --Darkbane 17:11, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. "Magistra Vitae" is a historiographical principle and mode of discourse; it's not just a quote from classical literature. mano dei 07:55, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, could you at least add info from and cite secondary sources discussing it? Just the quotation from Cicero is not enough. --Darkbane 11:32, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

bad citation[edit]

The source cited is not correct; in De oratore II, 9 does not contain that phrase at all[1]. Please correct the citation. Also, macrons should be added.

A search at the same site brings up:
a match in Cic. de Orat. 2.36
a match in Cic. Tusc. 2.16
So either the work or the section is mismatched...? --Joy [shallot] (talk) 23:10, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
