List of floats?

Anyone know what floats were at each park, and if there are some that were removed or added? --blm07 12:17, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Why does this article need to contain a list of floats for each parade? I don't believe having bullet points of each float adds any significance to the article.FirstDrop87 (talk) 02:16, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Even as a big Disney fan I don't see the reason to list all the different floats. Disney doesn't even offer up a list of all the floats on their site, they only offer that Tinkerbell starts it and to look for a short list of other characters during the paradeBrenda2014 (talk) 15:15, 12 June 2014 (UTC).

Since no one else has added insight as to why the list of floats should remain, and since there is no verifiable source of information for a list of floats, I will begin to remove them all. FirstDrop87 (talk) 22:27, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

Light bulbs

"The Main Street Electrical Parade was so popular that light bulbs certified as having been part of the show were sold to collectors. [citation needed]" this is something well known, and it is mentioned in the Farewell VHS for the parade at Disneyland. --blm07 14:47, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Michael Iceburg and his Iceburg Machine

Any-one remember anything about this show from Tomorrowland Cafe featuring a synthesizer show based on the Don Dorsey version of the Main Street Electrical Parade. The first time I saw the show it did not have a name, the second time it had this name and was featured on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson on NBC in the same year. No credit was given to Don Dorsey - I only tracked that down later along with Don Dorsey's two CD-albums that followed-up his Disney popularity in the late 1980's. Michael Iceberg performed at the Magic Kingdom from 1976 until the mid 80's. He also performed at Disneyland some. His "Iceberg machine" was comprised of numerous early synths wired into 3 keyboards. The show consisted of a number of popular songs. For example. he would start out with the Star Wars theme, and then go straight to the 5 note "alien hello" from Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind. The notes were in a sequencer that went faster and faster until it became the underpinning of Baroque Hoedown. Returning to DL Park in 2001

I have added the "citation needed" tag to the statements about returning the parade to Disneyland Park in 2001. I was a CM at the time and heard those rumors as well, but they were just that - rumors with no credible source. If no one can verify that Disney indeed wanted to return the parade to DL but chose to bring it to DCA because of the poor attendance, I suggest removing this info and sticking to the facts.Kuyabribri (talk) 21:07, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Why no photos of parade elements?

I have photos of several of the parade elements. I've been searching here and on Commons for other photos of them and am not finding *any*, which makes me wonder--why not? Is there some reason that those photos aren't legal to use on WP? If there's no reason, I can scan mine in and add them. Elf | Talk 04:30, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

Dubstep?

I think I misunderstood the original poster's question. I thought he/she was asking if Dubstep is the name of the song played during the Main Street Electrical Parade. I had no clue what Dubstep was, yet I saw the article's lead section say that the title of the song is Baroque Hoedown. I just looked at the article on Dubstep--curious as to what the heck that is. When I read that it's actually a music genre, I realized my response was not helpful. But in response to the original question: This parade and the accompanying music has been in existence since the 1970s, and the article on Dubstep says that particular genre started in 1998. SInce dubstep was not in existence back decades earlier when Baroque Hoedown was composed, the answer is: No, this is not Dubstep. The Main Street Electrical Parade article states that the genre for Baroque Hoedown, the music in the parade, would fit under Electronic Music. 70.212.35.28 (talk) 01:16, 31 December 2015 (UTC)

At the risk of being considered extremely picky, I'd still like to know: in the infobox, why does the information under Disney's California Adventure not line up perfectly with the information for the parks directly above it? We have no way to verify that you "know people who work at Disneyland and they told me and they all know that Disney's Electrical Parade starts January 20th 2017. It's going to happen. No doubt about it." As such, it does not belong on here. If, however, you can provide a reliable source stating that is when the parade will start, then it might be able to stay. Otherwise, it has no business on here until a reliable source is found. , Disney has made no acknowledgement to the parade's future. On August 26, 2017, it was reported by Disneyland management that the parade would be heading to an offsite warehouse near Disneyland. With still no word on its future, some are suggesting that the parade will just be taking a hiatus and will most likely return in the future, At D23 Expo 2017 Bob chapek said that Disney had to keep something a suprise when the Casey Jr drum float was shown on the screen and some people believe that an announcement on the parades future is soon to come Pepper Gaming (talk) 09:22, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
