The result of the proposal was move. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:26, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MamelukeMameluke (horse) — The word mameluke is most often a transliteration of Mamluk, and should redirect there, with a hatnote pointing to this horse. It would appear that most if not all of the articles linking to mameluke intend to link to mamluk. — —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 00:01, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom. Just to clarifiy - is the proposal to have Mameluke as a redirect to Mamluk, or as a disambiguation page? I would support either of those options, with a preference for the first. Tevildo (talk) 06:40, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment I'd intended to propose the former; this should redirect to Mamluk. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 09:21, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support; this is a classic example of primary usage, especially since the horse is doubtless named after the Egyptian Mamelukes. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 20:47, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, but someone looking for the horse should have a way of getting to the correct article by typing "Mameluke" in the search field, so changing Mameluke to a dab page may be preferable. Deor (talk) 21:13, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
