Conflict of Interest

[edit]

This Wikipedia article about Marcial Cuquerella has very similar wording (in English) as in one of his recent Twitter posts (in Spanish). I suspect this article has been written by himself or by somebody of his confidence. This should be taken into account whenever Conflicts of Interest appear.

"Cuquerella has two engineerings (Computing Engineer and Civil Engineer) and two MBA (IE and IESE)" says the very first phrase of the "Career" section of this Wikipedia article. It is there since the article's first version, by Wikipedia user Sabashamir.

On 4th of March 2021, Twitter user Marcial Cuquerella, @cuquemar , posted "Tengo dos ingenierías, dos MBA por el IE y por la UCLA. He sido ponente en Harvard y Yale...". I don't know if UCLA cooperates with Opus Dei University IESE.

Sabashamir has created and updated this article in 2015 and 2019. He did no other contributions to the English Wikipedia. In Wikimedia he only uploaded one content, the portrait photo of a contemporary Catholic Spanish military clergyman, and in the Spanish Wikipedia he only did one small edit, about a contemporary Catholic Spanish bishop - personalities that match with Cuquerella's own political-religious background. But that could be just a typical case of a Wiki user focussing on his personal field of interest.

My only native language is German. As far as I can tell, the expression "has two engineerings" is quite particular and is based on a Spanish expression. In Google (location setting = France, language setting = Catalan) all 10 hits for "has two engineerings" refer to Cuquerella.

Sabashamir's user and talk pages are empty. I will try to insert a Conflict of Interest notice there, relating to this article. ==Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion== Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. @Tim2007viatge: I have copy edited and checked over this article, removing the conflict of interest tag. Other than the strange use of 'engineerings' the rest appears sourced and neutral. I have added a citation needed tag to one of the links that was not working, but otherwise it looks fine. Asimoth (talk) 03:03, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
