untitled

[edit]

This is my first article I have tried to start from scratch. I will be working on this a lot. With links and references etc. But I could use any help that you'd be prepared to offer to get it off the ground. Thanks! Webchat 01:32, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The image is just from some guy's blog. Read the description and comments. It should be removed as it does not represent the actual logo for a mashup. --Art8641 14:10, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Less Jargon Plz

[edit]

Um, wow. I can tell that this could probably be a good article, but as of right now I can barely understand what it's saying - and I consider myself to be rather up on the metalanguage of memes, being an E.D.-er and a YTMND-er.

Right now, it - you know that blonde exec from the Simpsons, who's always trying to change Krusty the Clown and giving him buzzword-filled notes? - yeah, it sounds like this article was written by her. The sentences really need to be written in a much simpler style, and expanded upon; remember, the people reading this article have presumably come to learn about something new, not to confirm already held knowledge.

I would help, but, uh, I came here to learn about Youtube Poop, something that has never made sense to me and now still doesn't -_-;; --Anoma lee (talk) 14:48, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube Poop

[edit]

I dont really understand why Youtube Poop redirects here, since only few YouTube Poops fall under this defenition and Youtube Poops are only vaguely mentioned. 92.0.134.90 (talk) 19:06, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It redirects here because previously, due to the fact that Youtube Poop isn't generally accepted by the census, creating an article about Youtube Poop was considered vandalism. While this article doesn't explain more of a "random mashup" such as Youtube Poop(in SuperYoshi/MycroProcessor terms) which may, or may not use multiple sources, it's a lot better than nothing. If you were looking for something around the stylings of WalrusGuy or link12334567 (That may or may not be the actual number), then this is a poor choice of article selection, however, SuperYoshi created Youtube Poop, and this is the closest thing to his creation. There should at least be a section in this article devoted to YouTube Poop. 128.211.198.168 (talk) 01:25, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah Wikipedia totally doesn't want an article dedicated to Youtube Poop because it's "irrelevant subject matter". It being merely mentioned on Wikipedia is an honor and I'm happy for it. We don't need to make a big deal about it not having an article though because it doesn't need one. Years ago I felt like the whole world needs to know about poops and the info needs to be out there, but now I realized it's just little internet hobby that's been labeled as an "internet meme". Gosh I hate when people call Youtube Poop a meme but you know.. we poopers aren't that important. It would cool to have an article though. Sadly it's not a priority. Robochao out! In the mean time there is http://youtube.wikia.com/wiki/YouTube_Poop --Air (talk) 12:55, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube Poop deserves it's own article, and they should go into how it pretty much all started with Mario and Zelda CDi cutscenes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.92.236.171 (talk) 18:41, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I say it's time for a YouTube Poop article. It's been mentioned in the news, this time, Common Sense Media. Per [1]

"Your kid may love watching Caillou, Dora, and Arthur on YouTube, but not all videos starring these innocent characters are what they appear to be. YouTube Poop videos are mash-ups of cartoons and games spliced with disturbing dialogue. (For example, the word "blood!" is screamed when Caillou pours pizza sauce. And the language is often even stronger.) Kids love these videos, and their popularity can spread through fifth grade like wildfire."

So I say it's a consideration now. Matty-chan (talk) 13:16, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here's another one: [2]

"Media Tip of the Week YouTube is growing in popularity with the K-5 set but not every “Dora” video they search for is just the cute T.V.. character in action. “YouTube Poop” videos are videos in which child-centered characters are mashed in with disturbing language or graphics. For example, Calliou shouting “blood!” every time he pours pizza sauce (the language can often include swearing). Filter out inappropriate material by turning on the YouTube filters found under the link “safety” at the bottom of each YouTube page. Parents should also spend time watching these videos with their kids – you may be surprised at what they are being exposed to."

(By the way, the video they're looking for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUofCh_hCUo starts at about 1:55) Matty-chan (talk) 15:02, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Shoddy writing

[edit]

This is a terribly written article and from looking at it I think that it needs a total rewrite. 109.76.250.251 (talk) 16:40, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this page doesn't give me any information about whatsoever. It's totally useless. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.123.51.30 (talk) 15:52, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Permission Request

[edit]

On 28.Feb.2014 I watched a YouTube video someone uploaded, that I believe would make an excellent example of a video mashup: they mashed up "Battlestar Galactica" (the REAL one, from 1978) with "Space: 1999."

I'm requesting permission to add the link under External Links.

If you wish to see it before making a decision, here's the link: "Battlestar 1999" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpB9NbPNNhE)
