Topics for expansion
[edit]This article could connect to lots of other articles on early 20th century reform, both in the US and Europe, including:
- child labor restriction and compulsory schooling
- mothers' pensions
- woman suffrage
- temperance/prohibition (US)
It needs to have a section with specific examples of maternalist reforms, and it needs to describe the successes and limits of these reforms. Since maternalism is a major topic in the historiography of US women, it might also bear with a paragraph or 2 on historians' changing interpretations over time. ---Shane Landrum (cliotropic | talk | contribs) 23:38, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
Related Entries
[edit]I've just added a Related Entries section with a few items I thought of off the top of my head. This list could get a lot longer. It would be a good idea to edit each of the entries listed there so that it links back to this article. ---Shane Landrum (cliotropic | talk | contribs) 17:23, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Historiography
[edit]Come on, graduate students--- I know someone out there's written a seminar paper on the historiography of maternalist reform that you want to cut down and clean up for this article. Put it into its own section, please. ---Shane Landrum (cliotropic | talk | contribs) 17:38, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
