Problem with list of band members
[edit]Duncan Lloyd is the guitarist for Maximo Park and always has been not Matthew Gamage as is stated on the page.
- someone keeps on updating it to be Matthew Gamage every time I change it. It's the same user again and again. They've also written something about this person on another page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockport_Grammar_School. No idea why they're doing this??
- hhmmm, perhaps they are Matthew Gamage and are trying to promote themselves --Coheed56 (talk) 08:12, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Description for the band.
At the NME Tour gig in Belfast in January, Paul Smith described Maximo Park thus; "We are an emo band, trying not to be."
Might be a quote worth adding if a second source can be found to prove it. There were a group of people standing with him, including myself at the time. (81.76.126.63 12:37, 5 February 2006 (UTC))
I have an - unfortunately - empty bottle of Maximo Brown Ale, obtained from the after-tour party. I'll try to get a picture uploaded soon, as it is quite unusual. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.39.210.203 (talk) 20:18, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Singles list wrong?
[edit]"Books From Boxes" seems to not be on the list of singles. I would rectify it myself but with the gallery being used, I don't have the cover. Esteffect (talk) 21:34, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Name
[edit]Hey, although the article indicates that Maximo Gomez Park is in Havana, it seems to be in Little Havana, Miami: http://www.education.miami.edu/ep/littlehavana/Domino_Park/domino_park.html ralian (talk) 03:43, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
--Looking at some of my old edits -- I see people are still claiming that they're named after some park in Cuba, and the page says it wants a citation. I'd like a citation too, because I was able to find a Maximo Gomez Park in Little Havana, Miami on Google, but didn't find one in Cuba. I suspect this is just apocryphal anyways. Citations please! :) ralian (talk) 07:24, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Update -- there is a statue of Maximo Gomez in Havana (no surprise there), but it's in the Parque Martires del 71. There are also several streets named after the Generalissimo. However there really does not appear to be a Plaza or Parque Maximo Gomez in Havana. That said, they could still have named themselves after a fictitious park... Anyways, I'm changing it back to Little Havana, Miami for now (but leaving the cite tag in place). ralian (talk) 07:33, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
On the Radcliffe and Maconie show on BBC 6music (27 February 2014), the presenters mentioned that according to Paul Smith the umlaut over the "i" in Maxïmo changes the pronunciation from a short sound to a long one (i.e. Maxeemo). Anyone come across a written reference to this anywhere? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Finbarr1962 (talk • contribs) 16:10, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

Infobox image
[edit]The infobox image shows five people performing onstage but the caption only lists three of them, so it isn't clear who is who. Please could this be clarified? --Jameboy (talk) 21:12, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
