New York City students recieved a Residency Questionaire the other day. If someone want to add it to the artical. It displays "McKinney-Vento Act 42 U.S.C. 11435" --HockeyInJune 04:33, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As the only national US program to assist homeless children, the McKinney-Vento Act has made a major impact on the situations of homeless children in America. However the funding provided through the program is less than half of what is needed to reach all of America's estimated 1,300,000+ homeless children.(2008)

With all programs for America's homeless children already under-staffed & under-funded, it is time for Congress to double the current funding. This would help 600,000 homeless American children get off the streets and help them graduate high school to become productive members of society. If this funding increase takes place, it will more than pay for itself in many ways. This includes issues such as a lower crime rate, increase in US productivity and GDP and less dependence on social programs, as people learn to be independent and self-supporting.

Givewell case study

[edit]

I am looking to integrate this into the article. I did not see if referenced with a quick skim. This case study has some good interviews and gathering sources as well as analysis of impact. I will look at adding this into the wikipedia article if I have time.
