Originally called Victorian Symphony Orchestra
[edit]I think we need to state that is was called the VSO until around the late 40s-early 50s, but I'm having trouble establishing a firm date for the name change. It may even have had a different name in Zelman's time. Can anyone help? -- JackofOz (talk) 03:14, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- I have a date for name change to MSO. According to an extract from "Crescendo: Melbourne Symphony Orchestra: Celebrating 100 Years", by Stella M. Barber, published in Limelight (September 2007), the MSO was called the VSO between 1948 and 1964. -- JackofOz (talk) 09:33, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- This link says the relevant years were 1949 and 1965. We should try to pin this down more exactly if possible. -- JackofOz (talk) 03:40, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
