Conflict of interest issue with Eastern Courier staff editing their own encyclopedia page
[edit]Heather Kennett's name was added on the web site by Greg Barila, the online editor at Messenger Newspapers, on January 10, 2011, as shown here. Heather Kennett's name was added for the first time here, on February 28, 2009. This means Heather Kennett had been with Eastern Courier for less than 2 years, making her presence somewhat non-notable for an encyclopedia. More serious is Barila's editing of Eastern Courier's Wikipedia article, which he has done so continuously betwen January 23, 2008 and January 10, 2011, over a 2-year period as shown here. I'd thus raise WP:NPOV, but more seriously, WP:COI. Beavereditor (talk) 13:48, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- I've looked at the logs, and I'd like to qualify my assertion with evidence that the user User:AdelaideMedia removed concerns raised by User:Muzzamo, as shown here. Accordingly, I have re-inserted the concerns below. Beavereditor (talk) 13:53, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
Notability of staff
[edit]I propose that we delete staff lists etc, its not really notable enough for a wikipedia article. Muzzamo (talk) 23:04, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- I concur with this, the article reads like an advertisement. WP:NOT iterates that Wikipedia is not a place for advertising. Beavereditor (talk) 13:53, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- Staff list removed as non-notable and unreliable. In particular, presence of e-mail format suggests intent of inclusion is for advertising purposes. Beavereditor (talk) 14:25, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

2016/17 changes
[edit]I've started doing some work on this article, but due to the mergers between mastheads a lot more work is needed to bring it up-to-date, particularly to the table of mastheads, distribution areas and circulation figures, as well as updating and moving the pages on the individual mastheads.
