Fair use rationale for Image:Mike Barson.jpg

[edit]

Image:Mike Barson.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:28, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Invaders?

[edit]

Wasnt the bands name "The North London Invaders" before they changed it to Madness?

They used both. Sam Orchard 19:46, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright well should we stick with one for continuity? In the Madness article it uses The North London Invaders. Having it change from article to article could get a bit confusing. Glassbreaker5791 19:04, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added in the Madness article that the name was sometimes shortened to "The Invaders" Sam Orchard 01:03, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're wrong. The name wasn't "sometimes shortened to The Invaders". The original name was always The Invaders. The "North London" bit was added briefly when they realised that another band called The Invaders had got a record deal. 78.33.203.129 (talk) 08:52, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

His name is Michael Barson, not anything else so don't change it back to something else again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.83.121.172 (talk) 17:04, August 24, 2007 (UTC)

It's actually Michael Wilson Barson 78.33.203.129 (talk) 08:50, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As a general note, this article is very poorly written. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.33.203.129 (talk) 08:57, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's NOT Michael Wilson Barson.. Please do not edit the name any further. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.83.80.216 (talk) 02:15, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Buddhism

[edit]

It is very well known that Mike is a Tibetan Buddhist and follows the Nyingma school so why do people keep removing this from the profile? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.163.141.149 (talk) 20:50, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because we have a very strict standard for religious beliefs in categories and infoboxes. Before religion can be put in either, there must be a citation supported statement in the article text in which the subject self-identifies as a member of the religion. Third-party sources can't be used. In this case, there's not even a sentence about it in the article. See WP:BLPCAT. Yworo (talk) 03:27, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth?

[edit]

Article states "Born in London, Barson grew up in North London" while the infobox states "Born 21 April 1958 (age 54) Edinburgh, Scotland". Somewhat contradictary, no? Thelemur78 (talk) 23:21, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since neither was sourced, I changed infobox to match article - change back if incorrect but add source please :) Thelemur78 (talk) 19:49, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
