David Phiri

[edit]

David Phiri links to an article about somebody that passed away in January 2012. Meanwhile, this article states that "a person with the same name" remained as the Member of Parliament for Mkaika until somewhere in 2013 (which is true). I believe this is enough evidence to show that the David Phiri link in this article is linking to the wrong article (article about somebody else). So, what should we change it to? Would it be correct to change the link to David Phiri (born 1937) or something like that, seeing as the person mentioned in this article is NOT the same person who is being described in the David Phiri article?

I see we have the same situation with the Peter Phiri link in this article. It is linking to the Malambo constituency MP's article, which is not supposed to be the case. Both the Malambo and Mkaika MPs have the same first & last name at present and we shouldn't have the Mkaika article having a link to the article about the Malambo MP. Again, how do we "disambiguate" (differentiate) between them on Wikipedia?

I've fixed the links, using David Phiri (politician) for the first and Peter Phiri (politician, born 1973) for the second (and also moved the existing Peter Phiri article to Peter Phiri (politician, born 1974) to disambiguate him. Number 57 20:27, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
