Is the Genealogybank.com historic newspaper archive reliable or unreliable?
[edit]@Netherzone reversed an edit on the ground that the source cited, a San Jose Mercury News article on GenealogyBank, is not a reliable source and because the URL for the article links to a "create an account" webpage. According to Template:Cite news "Citations of online sources that require registration or a subscription are acceptable in Wikipedia". Genealogybank is paywalled, but they recently dropped a treasure trove of San Jose newspapers digitized from microfiche that cannot be found anywhere else online.
