Treason conviction

Was he convicted of treason against the US or against the State of Connecticut? If the latter, then the categorisation should be removed. Indeed, was there yet any such thing as treason against the United States in 1777? Alekksandr (talk) 16:39, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
