British composer Zack Laurence

[edit]

On Discogs, Mr. Bloe is listed as an alias for the British composer Zack Laurence. Another alias listed is Zack Lawrence, which automatically redirects to this article.[1] GravityIsForSuckers (talk) 05:27, 20 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Discogs must be wrong (as per my entry: Error in first paragraph, undermines article) as Zach was only a performer on a recording after the original made by the writers and performers in "Wind". RedTCat (talk) 14:52, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What about it? Laurence's involvement is explained in this article. Ghmyrtle (talk) 09:12, 20 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ghmyrtle: But why should typing in his name automatically redirect to a page that is not an article bio? It's an article that only mentions him. Wouldn't it be better if his name brought up this page in search results instead(since there's not an wiki article about him yet)? -- GravityIsForSuckers (talk) 17:08, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I got my answer after reading more about redirects. I edited the redirect and added the {R with possibilities} tag. -- GravityIsForSuckers (talk) 17:08, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Error in first paragraph, undermines article

[edit]

According to the first paragraph of this article:
Mr. Bloe was the name given to the musicians who performed the single "Groovin' with Mr. Bloe", which was a hit in 1970 in the UK for Dick James Music (DJM). These included Harry Pitch on harmonica, and Zack Laurence on piano.
This is erroneous, as the title "Groovin' with Mr. Bloe" was given to the piece by it's writers: Bo Gentry, Kenneth Laguna, and Paul Naumann, whose recording as "Wind" pre-dates the DJM recording referred to.
Therefore the article needs a new opening paragraph, but that would mean the article is not really about "Mr Bloe", but "Groovin' with Mr. Bloe". RedTCat (talk) 14:49, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
