the values in the main table differ wildly from the values in the USDA nutrient database. for example, USDA lists shiitake vitamin D concentration as 20 IU/100g vs the 46,000 IU/100g here —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.9.236.243 (talk) 06:46, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The USDA database is simply a summary of available information abstracted from published sources. Very high D2 concentrations have been independently documented in many different mushrooms, and published in peer-reviewed papers. The USDA database simply has not yet incorporated these new data.

20 IU/100g is within the range listed in the table for mushrooms which haven't been exposed to UV.--Oolong (talk) 22:13, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
