No whispers at Aaron's birth

[edit]

the relevant clip can be found here

Why should the "dead souls" of the island whisper about Aaron Littleton's birth? He was not a forebode to doom (not a Damien-"Omen"). If you would suppose anything as ridcoulous as that, rather then it were more sensible that the "voices" would literally change their tune and sing melodic "sighs" of joy and relief that another life, a new soul was born on the death-dealing island, possibly weakening both Jacob's and "Smokey"'s power significantly. Thank You, though, as you bring up an interesting point. It seems that the Dharma Initiative had trumped Jacob (and by extention) "Smokey" in several aspects: That they found the Island at all, established a base and community; was able to fly to and from the Island at will; kept the Others, "MIB" and therefore Jacob at bay, especially with the electro-magnetic, "sonic" barrier. (There is probably a inference that the Dharma folks probably found the "Atlas WheeL"-as I called it, and was able to move the Island more than once). This must have really enraged Jacob, and marginalized and diminished his control for nearly thirty years! But the real outrage probably was the birth of the Dhrama babies, first Ethan Rom, and probably Miles also. When Aaron was born, with the assist of Ethan, could it be that both Jacob, and probably "Smokey" were outraged that their power to spread the "sickness" was finally ineffective? This also raises a question about Jacob's animosity towards Ben Linus. To all accounts, Ben's leadership of "the Others" was within keeping to Jacob's proscripts of keeping the Island secret at all costs. This seemed to work, and Ben leadership, though nefarious, was typical of what was reqired and expected. I speculate that aside from the fact that Ben was "changed" by Doge when his life hung in the balance, and Jacob thought that Linus was a potential threat ( along with the resurated Sayid Jurarah; a notion that I have cited elsewhere,) I believe that the character Jacob was outraged that Ben Linus had directed his "flock" to task in the (successful) endeavore of coming up with a treatment (through Juliett's efforts) that would stop the mysterious abortions on the Island (Ben not knowing that this was Jacob's [alleged]influence all along.) So, Aaron was the first birth in nearly forty years (sans Danielles Russeau's) and certainly the first resulting by scientific intervention, something I believe Jacob had animosity to, as opposed to his brother, "Smokey", who saw science and technology as a way of finally getting off the Island (and therefore, in the aspect, Jacob and "Esau" should be looked more upon as "Cain and Abel) So, Aaron represented a change in the condition of the Island. This may explain why Claire was lured away, allegedly by MIB in the form of Christain Sheppard, and mesmerized! And also why Jacob, in the projected form of Claire communicated to Kate that Aaron should never return to the Island. No, Aaron Littleton's birth was not a cause for forebodden to anyone(living, or long dead, and "whispering") to anyone, except Jacob and Esau-"Smokey". --67.86.97.149 (talk) 17:26, 13 November 2011 (UTC)Veryverser[reply]

The numbers

[edit]

I am not sure where the writer took the information that the numbers are somehow related to the Taman Shud case, but I’m quite sure it’s wrong. In the Taman Shud case, a series of letters were found, no numbers. I’ll check this better but I’m 99% sure it’s wrong, if I can’t find any confirmation I’m going to cancel that part in a few days. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.67.138.7 (talk) 14:18, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I cancelled that part since it's simply not true, you may want to check the very same taman shud case article on wikipedia and you'll see that no mention of any number is present. Same thing for the sources, which don't cite any number at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.67.138.7 (talk) 15:43, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: The black Rock

[edit]

In the section titled "The Block Rock", the article states that Jacob brought the ship to the Island. In the final episode of season four, both "men", viewing the ship at a relatively close distance could see that it was bourned on calm waters. In Season 5, it was carried violently by a Tsumani. Now, of course we know that the writers, director, and producers tweeted the cause of how the ship came to the Island (as Ricardus' origins were recounted). I suppose any seasoned mariner or oceanologist knows how a ship could be swept several miles island, where we TV-viewing layman would not. The only thing I have trouble with is that Jacob said to Esau-"Smokey" that he brought the ship to the Island, and Cap't Hanso and Richardus to their respective, hapless fates. But if so, did Jacob know about the storm before hand (as he had visited virtually all the candidates in their past, manipulating them to their future fates,) did he know that his statue\sanctuary would be destroyed? Was it deliberate? Why wasn't MIB surprised at the resultant destruction (or did he wish that Jacob had been standing right on shore when it happened? Or surmised that Jacob had finally made a mistake? Certainly the destruction of the Tartweet structure signaled a change in the condition of the Island, and "Jake's" rule over it. It could also be the reason why Jacob offered Richard to task as leader and advisor, as he knew that he couldn't keep the advancing world outside for too much longer. --67.86.97.149 (talk) 18:51, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Parallel universe?

[edit]

No mention of the "flash-sideways" parallel universe? This should be added. —Confession0791 talk 03:40, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
