History Section[edit]

I've noticed that in the History section, specifically in the Old Route through Pretoria subsection, we have written that the N4 used to "run through Pretoria's CBD on regular city streets before becoming the Magalies Toll Freeway towards Hartbeespoort and then continued on the R511/R513/R512 routes before joining a single-carriageway freeway". After that, we mention "all that remains of this routing is the Magalies Freeway west of Pretoria CBD".

Just from what is mentioned above, one wonders what we mean by saying "all that remains of this routing"... Could it mean that from this entire old route, that mentioned "Magalies Freeway" is the only section still denoted as the N4? Or maybe it means something else? I'm trying to understand how we started that introductory paragraph with a sentence which has mentioned "the entire old route" and then immediately moved to a sentence that only mentions the "Magalies Freeway" and not the other two ("regular city streets" and "R511/R513/R512").

In the next paragraph, we begin by saying "where the N4 used to run through Pretoria...", where we somehow return to the fact that the N4 consisted of "regular city streets" from the Proefplaas Interchange westwards and after that, we mention the freeway again.

Well, if we are meant to have a sentence specifically talking about that tolled freeway and how it should have continued further than its current abrupt western terminus at Hartbeespoort, then I do not think that we should have started that sentence with "all that remains of this routing...", as it somehow disregards what was mentioned in "just the previous sentence", which is the fact that the "regular city streets" in-between the Proefplaas Interchange and the Magalies Freeway were part of the N4 at that time (the N4 was not only the Magalies Freeway). So, I think we need to rewrite this sentence which talks about the freeway alone and possibly move it to its own paragraph. I think I will do it myself soon.

I think I have managed to re-arrange the details that I have mentioned above here without erasing any information that was stated (I simply changed the information to appear in a particular order). I also added "Citation needed" tags to the statements which have mentioned that there were plans to extend the Magalies Freeway further than its current western terminus south of Hartbeespoort.
