Early Years
[edit]I read that Nelson Doubleday asked his father for a position in the company, and his father replied that there was no evidence that Nelson would be an asset in the publishing business. Nelson went into business as Doubleday Import Books, and when Frank decided that he did want his son's services, he had to buy his son's business. No idea where this might be documented, even if true. J S Ayer (talk) 00:51, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
Name of his company
[edit]Doubleday established his own business in 1910 and used the profits to publish books under his own imprint (now known as xxx).
- Is that just printer's greek or a highly creative piece of corporate branding? The item above this one gives another name for his company (if it's the same one). Valetude (talk) 22:06, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
