Vandalism by editor insisting on 2010 data[edit]

Editor User:mikeblas insists in reverting to 2010 figures, deleting the 2020 population for New Baltimore, NY, 3,226. He asks for citations. They have been provided, with US Census addresses; yet he deletes.

User:mikeblas, please engage on this page to explain you insistence in reverting to 2010 data, even after references are provided. You are wasting everyone's time.Dogru144 (talk) 04:18, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I reverted your edit because it was easier than fixing all the problems it causes. Let's look at the issues caused by your edit:
  • Results in "USCensusEst2016" reference being undefined. You removed the 2016 estimate from the Demographics box, but the USCensusEst2016 reference is still in use in the main infobox. That causes an undefined reference error and automatically places the article in the Category:Pages with broken reference names
  • The population changes, which means the population density of the town has changed. You didn't update the density.
  • Your reference is just a raw URL for search results. Why not provide a better (that is, more stable and formatted) reference?
  • You repeated the reference for the census numbers. It should be provided only once.
I've made another edit with these changes. Please don't revert it, as doing so will re-introduce the errors and deficiencies your previous edit caused.
Looks like you've made several edits to articles for different towns in New York, all with the same problems. What do you think is the best way to address the deficiencies in the quantity of edits you've made? -- Mikeblas (talk) 16:31, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
