[edit]Is there much point in having players on trial on this page unless they play a competitive game for the reserves? This might be added to the Newcastle United F.C. season 2008-09 page, stating that players joined the club on trial. But a player merely training with Newcastle United players don't make them part of the squad in my opinion. Thoughts? TheMightyPeanut (talk) 12:27, 27 March 2009 (UTC)TheMightyPeanut
Bradden Inman
[edit]Bradden Inman was born in Australia, but has chosen to represent Scotland at the International level (which he can do because of his Scottish mother), this is well documented. In these circumstances it is common practice to identify a person as being from the country that they represent, rather than tha country that they were born in. If people continue to revert Bradden Inman's icon it is difficult to interpet there actions as anything except vandalism. RicoRichmond (talk) 16:56, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I'd like to refer to the link http://www.nufcblog.com/2009/06/02/newcastle-spotlight-on-youth-17-year-old-brad-inman/ The website it self is that of a Newcastle supporter, it clearly mentions Brad Inman as Australian and he Inman is quoted as saying: “I did think if I can come over to Newcastle then the next step is to try to play for Australia.” So in regards to the well documented nature of his choice as Scotland it is not true as there are still harboured dreams of representing Australia. Ergo it is not vandalism due to his preferences. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Patmeek (talk • contribs) 07:52, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
That's all well and good, but the fact remains that at this time he has been capped by Scotland and not by Australia, ergo, he should be identified with a Scottish rather than an Australian flag. If his international status changes then that can change, but until then anything else is simply inaccurate. RicoRichmond (talk) 16:34, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
He's born in Australia and as yet has not represented either nation at a senior level therefore neither side is relevant according to wikipedia rules of notability and furthermore it's misleading because anyone else from the Northern hemisphere would think he was born a Scot which is clearly not the case. --124.178.186.194 (talk) 21:05, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Current Players/Current Squad
[edit]As we have 2 setions with very similar tables with the reserve squad can we merge and just have one list for reserve players and one with a table for academy players sorted by whether they are first, second or third year scholars, there's no need to have a list of reserve team and a table with their date of birth & former club. This section is now the same as Manchester United's Reserve & Academy page.Mjf1987 (talk)—Preceding undated comment added 15:27, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
