Tone
[edit]Needs toning down. Full of puffery, it reads like a promotional flier. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 23:23, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed, it's all a bit too technical. The results section is particularly meaningless, instead of such a list of results it would be much more meaningful to say how it compared to the national average. I note there are several contributions from users name "SarahHeathwood" and "Sheathwood" and this also happens to be the name of the college's marketing officer.--Shakehandsman (talk) 19:22, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Notable alumini
[edit]Tom smith Aero276 (talk) 23:07, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
- I doubt anyone can understand this, Aero276. If you are trying to say someone by that name should be added to the list, you're going to have to be much more specific than just typing one of the most common male names in the Western world. Please provide a link to the Wikipedia article on the specific person you've indicated, and a reliable source verifying his attendance at this institution. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 23:14, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
- On a related note, I've twice had to restore Roshonara Choudhry to the notable alumni section, the most recent case involving a COI editor who had deleted the entry via misleading edits. Therefore it's worth keeping an eye on this article as it seems to attract a lot of edits from staff at the college which often breach NPOV.--Shakehandsman (talk) 02:01, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Aero276: I agree with John from Idegon about the inclusion of Tom Smith. Generally, it's best to try and follow the guidance provided at WP:ALUMNI and at WP:CSC in cases like this and limit inclusion as much as possible to those individuals who either already have a stand-alone Wikipedia article written about them, or are Wikipedia notable enough for such an article to someday be written. Pretty much every school anywhere in the world has lots alumni who probably are quite successful and have done some pretty good things, but Wikipedia article cannot mention them all per WP:NOTEVERYTHING; so, Wikipedia has to be selective to avoid WP:Namechecking and other similar problems. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:35, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
- I must ask, is Roshonara Choudhry really what a Notable Alumni section is intended for? She has been added and deleted multiple times and we really need a definitive answer on this point. Other names have been added in the past, probably as a form of self-promotion for the college and at odds with normal Wikipedia practice, and have been deleted by me and others. Roshonara Choudhry is, however, a bit of a sticking point. -- LenF54 27 September 2018
