Deleted "On July 16 Denmark chosed to cut all connections to India because of the Niels Holck case, which may hit Denmark economically." No source, and I believe it to be untrue. More than likely it's the other way around. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.243.225.217 (talk) 12:35, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the following parts, because the references are sketchy at best:

  1. According to the Danish media the possible extradition was made possible as part of a deal where India in return supported Copenhagen's bid to host the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2009 [1]. However the prime minister at the time Anders Fogh Rasmussen has denied this.
  2. Another possible reason is that Denmark use companies in the Alang area in India for ship breaking[2] and Danish opposition against his extradition could jeopardize Danish exports to India.

As to the first claim, the reference to "Danish Media" is a short article which references "a book" without even letting us know what book that is. The second claim is based on an article which does not in any way refer to ship breaking or exports. 83.94.210.220 (talk) 07:35, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The first claim refers to an article originated in the newspaper Berlingske. They would not have published it unless they felt that there was some fact behind the claim made in the book [3]. It was only after the prime ministers visit to India that a possible extradition was made possible. The very same visit where Denmark got support from India to host the COP15. Of course he denied the contents of the article, but it would not have been the first time where independent journalism uncovered the truth.
The second claim is also valid. Denmark has been in the front when working for free trade. India is among the world leaders in both the ship breaking industry and the pesticide industry to which they want to attract more investments. Denmark is in a position where the merchant fleet is needing an upgrade which send some ships to the ship breakers OscarPetterson (talk) 09:43, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Re. first claim: Given the new reference you cite here, I suppose you could restore some of that text. I still find it vague, and I don't see much "journalism" in that article. It's microphone-holding at best.
Re. second claim: This is very much speculation an has no place in an encyclopedia. 83.94.210.220 (talk) 11:31, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is the false claim that Ananda Marga would be a terrorist organisation and responsible for example for the Hilton bombing in Australia. If one would read the wiki article on the Hilton bombing one could see that certain individuals who were working for the charity organisation Ananda Marga were arrested and even convicted - but later released and even pardoned. On the net there are interesting words from one of the accused, Paul Alister[4].

Terrorism claims - controversial or not

[edit]

The Oligarchy in New Delhi claims terrorism, but they don't honor the extradition agreements made with other countries as it was the case with the freedom fighter, they got from Portugal. Second I believe it that the claim is controversial because they have denied a demand for extradition even considered the fact that Holck had only a minor role in the matter. The entire finansing was conducted by another Dane with good political and economical connections to the highest places [5]

Second the very radar which could have alerted the airforce and stopped the plane before it reached its destination was shut off. Why? Only the supreme command of the Air Force in India can answer why they were willing to let a plane coming from Pakistan capable of carrying even a nucluar bomb enter their airspace without supervision [6]. Holck is a poor humanitarian which little political connections but is a danger for both the Danish and Indian government as long as he is free to talk to the press. They have only the option of putting him in some jail away from the media and maybe even fix an "accident" so he can be silenced forever JohanGraham (talk) 08:25, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
