Is it extinct or not?

In the information bar it says it is extinct, but in the article itself it says that 27 specimens remain today. Which is correct? Canine virtuoso (talk) 02:53, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've specified that the specimens are held by museums, to make the implication that they're dead clearer. --Avenue (talk) 05:14, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
